Welcome to the Fairfield County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (FCARES) homepage.

FCARES provides back-up emergency communications support to the Fairfield County Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security (FCEMA) and its supported organizations. These include the American Red Cross, Fairfield Medical Center, and others involved with disaster response or other emergency events.

FCARES is organized under the guidance of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL); its Great Lakes Division, the Ohio Section, and Ohio District #7.

We take this opportunity to thank the Lancaster and Fairfield County Amateur Radio Club (LFCARC) for its support of the FCARES mission. The LFCARC provides the use of its repeaters, some of its equipment, this adjunct to its K8QIK.org website, and its being a primary source of amateur radio volunteers. FCARES and LFCARC strive to work closely together, but concurrent membership in these two organizations is not a requirement.

Non-emergency public service support to the community (e.g. parades, festivals, charitable events, etc.) is provided by the LFCARC.
